Elmira Jackals News Release


ELMIRA, NY - The Elmira Jackals, proud member of the ECHL, gained just one point in the North Division standings last week in three contests. Entering the week, the Jackals sit in third place in the North Division with 16 games remaining in the regular season, all against North Division foes.

Overall: 31-18-3-4 (69 pts.) 3rd North Division/7th American Conference/11th Overall Last Week: 0-2-0-1 (1 pt.)

Friday, February 29th - v. DAYTON (3-4 so L) Att: 3,668 Shots: 40-27 ELM PP: 2/7 PK: 6/7

BENOIT DOUCET tied the game at 3-3 with a power play goal with 6:04 left in regulation, but the Jackals would fall short in the shootout segment 2-1 in losing their fourth consecutive contest. PIERRE-LUC FAUBERT notched his fifth shootout goal of the year, the most by a rookie, and is now tied for the league lead overall.

After TREVOR HENDRIKX opened the scoring 1:20 into the game, the Bombers came back with three straight goals to make it a weekend sweep in Elmira.

Elmira held a 2-1 lead after the opening frame courtesy of two BENOIT DOUCET power play strikes, but could not contain the visiting Chiefs who won their fourth straight game. DOUCET's second goal of the game gave him a team-leading 23 on the year.

Jackals Bites: The Jackals are on a season-high six-game losing streak (0-3-1-2) and have won just once in the last 12 games (1-8-1-2)...
