Cyclones storm past Condors

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Six different Cincinnati Cyclones lit the lamp to take a 7-2 win over the Bakersfield Condors in front of 4,091 fans at Rabobank Arena Monday night. Despite the loss, the Condors remain just two points out of a potential playoff spot in the National Conference.

The Cyclones (43-9-3, 89 points) drew first blood, with C Olivier Latendresse notching his second goal of the season at 5:01. They made it 2-0 at the 18:00 mark, as F Barret Ehgoetz netted his 14th of the campaign. The Condors (17-31-9, 43 points) were outshot 16-9 in the frame, with G Yutaka Fukufuji stopping 14 shots against his former team.

Cincinnati extended the lead at 1:18 of the second, but the Condors countered just over a minute later. F Evan Kotsopoulos tucked in a rebound for his fifth of the year at 2:30. Bakersfield pulled within one goal at 16:57 with a power-play tally by C Tim Konsorada, his 28th of the season. In the final minute of the period, rookie C David Desharnais notched his 17th to make it 4-2 in favor of the Cyclones after 40 minutes.

The Cyclones pulled away in the third, scoring three times in the final 10 minutes. Desharnais picked up two of his three assists in the third, and finished the night with four points. Fukufuji stopped 38 shots in the loss, while G Maxime Daigneault stopped 30 Condors shots for the victory.
