Grizzlies Fall Saturday In Las Vegas

West Valley City, Utah - The Las Vegas Wranglers scored two goals in 43 seconds midway through the third period to take control of a 2-1 hockey game and defeat the Utah Grizzlies 4-1 Saturday night at Orleans Arena.

Las Vegas jumped to a 1-0 lead on a goal from Tyler Mosienko at 12:24 of the first as they outshot Utah 15-4 in the opening frame.

In the second, the Grizzlies took advantage on one of five second period power-plays scoring a five-on-three goal from Garett Bembridge (2). James Sanford and Ryan Kinasewich added assists.

Utah outshot Las Vegas 20-8 over the final two periods.

Nathan Lawson (12-7-0-1) stopped 19 of 23 shots in the loss.

The Grizzlies continue their three-game road trip Sunday in Las Vegas. Face-off is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.

Utah returns to the E-Center Thursday, January 31 opening a three-game-in-three-night set with Alaska. All Utah home games start at 7:05 p.m.
