Gateway Grizzlies News Release

LOVES PARK, IL - The Rockford RiverHawks scored 11 runs in the first five innings and held on for an 11-7 victory Friday night against the Gateway Grizzlies at RiverHawks Stadium. The loss was the third in a row for the Grizzlies.

Gateway (23-23) held a brief lead after one half inning on a Justin Dunning RBI single.

After that, it was all Rockford (19-26). They scored three in the first, four in the third and three in the fourth inning. They belted three home runs and led by as many as six runs.

Chris Enourato (3-3) was charged with the loss for the Grizzlies. He gave up ten runs on eight hits in three-plus innings of work. Enourato walked two and struck out three.

The Grizzlies rallied in the middle innings. Alex Guthrie picked up an RBI single and Richie Jimenez Jr. drove in two to highlight a three-run Grizzlies third.

Gateway scored two more in the fifth on a Jon Myers RBI double and John Shelby RBI single.

In the eighth inning, Dunning drove in his second run of the night on a single to bring Gateway within four, but that's as close as they would get.

Dunning, Jerod Yakubik and Jimenez all had mult-hit games.

Gateway and Rockford return to action on Saturday night at 6:05 CT. Frontier League All-Star Tim Brown (4-2) gets the start for the Grizzlies.
