Grizzlies Fall 5-4 In Overtime

West Valley City, Utah - The Bakersfield Condors defeated the Utah Grizzlies (31-28-4-5) 5-4 in overtime Friday night at the E-Center before 5,810 fans.

Utah took a 3-1 first period lead after falling behind 1-0 5:22 into the game. AJ Perry got the scoring started shorthanded with his 27th of the year on a feed from James Sixsmith to make it 1-1 at 9:39. Exactly four minutes later, Ryan Kinasewich centered Dylan Hunter for his 15th goal of the year as Hunter extended his scoring streak to nine games. Utah made it 3-1 as Steve McJannet and Lance Galbraith cycled the puck deep and found Tim Crowder in front of the net for his 10th goal of the season. Utah scored three goals in a 7:11 stretch to take control of the game.

The game stayed 3-1 until Bakersfield scored 38 seconds into the third period to make it 3-2 and then was awarded four-straight power-plays in a 10:36 stretch. Utah killed the first three but Andrew Ianiero scored five seconds into the fourth one and tied the game at three at 10:41.

Utah responded to take a 4-3 lead on another Perry (28) goal as he knocked in a lose puck at 18:19. However, the Condors finished off their three-goal period with a shorthanded goal with 1:41 left in regulation.

Sasha Pokulok clanged a post and scored the game-winning goal 3:38 into overtime to complete the comeback and give Bakersfield the win.

Utah completes their regular season home schedule hosting Bakersfield Saturday at the E-Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
