
Kashirsky And Dubuc Return; Stingrays Add Erickson

South Carolina Stingrays News Release
North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach Cail MacLean announced today that forwards Nikita Kashirsky and Michael Dubuc have returned to the team from the Manitoba Moose and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League. The Stingrays also announced that they have signed goaltender Beau Erickson. In keeping with club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Kashirsky, 24, skated in 16 games with the Moose scoring two goals and one assist. The rookie forward from Moscow, Russia also dressed in nine games with the Springfield Falcons of the AHL earlier this season scoring one goal and two assists for three points. Kashirsky currently has 17 goals and 14 assists in 36 games with the Stingrays.
Dubuc, 21, has 13 goals and 14 assists in 34 games with the Stingrays. A native of Granby, PQ, Dubuc played in 16 games for the Bears this season scoring five goals and three assists for eight points.
Erickson, 24, joins the Stingrays after appearing in 17 games with the Utah Grizzlies and five games with the Reading Royals earlier this season. While with the Grizzlies, the Hinton, IA native went 5-7-3 with a goals-against average of 3.32 and a save percentage of.899. Prior to turning pro, Erickson played for three seasons at the University of Connecticut and was a teammate of Stingrays Captain Matt Scherer. He went 29-46-7 with a college career-best 2.92 GAA in 2006-2007 and a.913 save percentage in 2007-2008. Erickson served as an assistant captain during his senior season and established the team record for saves in a season with 947 in 2007-2008.
The Stingrays return to action tonight, Friday, March 26 against the Reading Royals at 7:05 p.m. at North Charleston Coliseum for The Post and Courier Hall of Fame Night and Fan Appreciation Night.
