Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The Ontario Reign defeated the Utah Grizzlies 4-0 Monday night at the E-Center. Ontario pulled away with a three-goal second period.

After a scoreless first period that saw Utah outshoot the Reign 8-6, Ontario scored off of a face-off in the Utah end 15 seconds into the second period following a Utah icing off of the opening face-off.

Ontario made it 2-0 8:27 into the second period as the Grizzlies struggled to clear the zone and Tim Kraus picked up a lose puck and walked into the right wing circle. The Reign then made it 3-0 on the power-play with 2:35 left in the period as Tony Voce knocked in his second of the game.

Ontario closed out the scoring with 2:35 left in the contest as Sean O'Connor picked up a puck in the neutral zone that bounced off of a Utah player and struck in for a breakaway.

The Reign outshot Utah 35-32 in the contest. Mitch O'Keefe stopped 31 of 35 shots in a losing effort for the Grizzlies.

Newcomer Chris Allen led Utah with six shots on net in his Grizzlies debut after being signed earlier in the day after arriving from Europe Sunday.
