Grizzlies Drop To 2-1 With Loss To Alaska

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies (2-1) dropped their first decision of the season Saturday night falling 5-0 to Alaska at the E-Center.

Utah outshot Alaska 17-7 in the first period but was unable to get anything past Alaska goaltender Jean-Phillipe Lamoureaux who earned his professional shutout in the win. Alaska jumped up 1-0 in the first period with a power-play goal.

In the second period, Alaska scored four goals in six minutes and five seconds to build their lead from 1-0 to 5-0 with the final score coming at 9:59 of the period.

The score remained 5-0 for the final 30:01 of regulation. Nathan Lawson relieved Mike Mole in goal after Alaska went up 4-0 and stopped 11 of 12 Alaska shots.

Utah outshot the Aces 48-28 in the game.

The Grizzlies return to action Wednesday, Friday and Saturday in Victoria. The team next will be home Wednesday, November 5, Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8 hosting Ontario.
