
Dayton Scores Late, Claims 3-1 Win Over Cyclones

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Kelly Cup Banner Ceremony packed US Bank Arena with the third largest crowd in home opener history with 5,183 in attendance. The crowd was not disappointed when the Cyclones would score first midway through the first period. The Bombers would answer a few minutes later to tie up the game (1-1). The game remained a (1-1) tie at the end of the second period. The Bombers would score a pair of goals in the third period to give the Bombers a 3-1 victory over the Cyclones.
Matt Syroczynski came out striking first for the Cyclones with a power play goal 10:25 into the first period giving Syroczynski his fourth goal of the year. The Dayton Bombers would score a few minutes later on a power play goal by Dan Riedel giving him his third of the season. At the end of the first period the game was a 1-1 tie.
At the end of the second, despite a lot of action the game was still knotted up at one a piece. Heading into the third period the Cyclones had 20 shots on goal where the dominated the Bombers who only had 13 attempts on goal.
The Bombers would quickly score 1:45 into the third period by goal from Justin Bowers. Moments later the Bombers would score again by a power play goal by Riedel giving him his second goal of the night. Riedel's second goal put the Bombers up 3-1. The Bombers would hold on to their lead and defeated the Cyclones 3-1.
The Cyclones are 0-3-1 on the season, while Dayton is 3-0. The Cyclones open a two-game road trip next weekend with a 7pm tilt at Reading on Friday night (October 31). That game will be carried on MAX-FM (97.7 and 99.5). Saturday (November 1), the team is at Dayton for a 7:30pm clash-that will also be carried on MAX-FM.
