Reign Split Road Series With Wranglers Falling 4-1

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings and the AHL Manchester Monarchs, fell to the Las Vegas Wranglers Friday evening in a 4-1 bout in front of 4,802 at Orleans Arena.

The Ontario Reign (2-1-0, 4 points) held a close match with the Wranglers (1-2-0-1, 3 points) holding the opposing team to one goal in the first period and shutting the Wranglers out in the second.

C Jon Francisco scored the Reign's lone goal, his second on the season, in the match at 16:19 in the third period off an assist from D Dan Knapp. The Reign could not hold on as the Wranglers scored three in the final period, making the final score 4-1.

The Reign head home to take on the Wranglers again Saturday night, Oct. 25, in their inaugural season home opener at Citizens Business Bank Arena. Doors open at 6 p.m. Game starts at 7 p.m.

Notes:

Goaltender John Murray made his Reign debut tonight, stopping 21 of 24 shots he faced in the loss.
