Grizzlies Drop Middle Game With Wranglers

Las Vegas, Nevada - After the Utah Grizzlies scored a second period goal to take a 1-0 lead, the Las Vegas Wranglers scored four straight on their way to a 5-2 win over Utah Friday night. The Wranglers added an empty-net goal in the final minute.

After a scoreless first period, Ryan Kinasewich gave the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead at 3:07 of the second on his 16th goal of the season, hacking in a rebound on a Brendan Cook shot. The Wranglers then scored three straight goals (2 power-play, 1 shorthanded) to take a 3-1 lead into the dressing room for the second intermission.

Las Vegas added an insurance goal early in the third to make it 4-1.

Travis Rycroft (3) redirected in a Ryan Kinasewich shot on the power-play late in the third to make it 4-2.

Prior to the game, Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Jason Christie announced that Travis Rycroft has been named the team's new captain. Ryan Kinasewich and Eric Nelson were named assistant captains.

Earlier today, Grizzlies left wing Ryan Kinasewich was named the ECHL's Player of the Week for the week ending December 23.

The Grizzlies and Wranglers play for the third time in three nights Saturday at the E-Center. Face-off is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
