Titans fend off Chiefs, 2-1

TRENTON, NJ (December 29, 2006) - The Trenton Titans used two goals scored thirty seconds apart in the second period to down the Johnstown Chiefs, 2-1, in front of 3,646 at the Sovereign Bank Arena.

Trailing 1-0 in the middle frame, the Titans tied the score at 13:56 when Scott Bertoli forced a turnover at his own blueline and raced the length of the ice before firing a perfect feed across the crease to Mike Pandolfo for an easy tip-in.

Trenton took the lead for a good a half-minute later when Bryan Miller notched his third maker of the season, crashing the net and backhanding a loose puck past a fallen Morgan Cey .

Gregg Naumenko made the lead stand stopping all but one of the 26 shots he faced to raise his record to 6-2-2.

It took a two-man advantage for Johnstown to get on the board, as P.J. Atherton rifled home a slapshot at 5:41 of the first period to break the scoreless tie.

The Titans were scoreless in four power play opportunities and 2-for-3 on the penalty kill.
