Grizzlies double up Salmon Kings, 6-3

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies scored two early goals in the first and four in the third as they evened their record at 3-3 with a 6-3 win over the Victoria Salmon Kings Saturday night at the E-Center.

James Laux got the Utah scoring started at 3:28 of the first, scoring a power-play goal to give the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead. Barett Ehgoetz put the Grizzlies up 2-0 at 10:25 of the first taking a feed from Matt Craig.

Victoria scored three goals in the second to go up 3-2 entering the final frame. Utah re-took the game over in the third with a goal from Jeff Miles to tie the game at three. The Grizzlies then got another goal from Barett Ehgoetz, one from Matt Craig and an empty-netter from Garett Cameron to seal the 6-3 win.

Laux extended his point streak to four games in the win. Craig now has six points (3g, 3a) in his last two games and leads the ECHL in rookie scoring with ten total points (6g, 4a). Ehgoetz has three goals in his last two games for Utah.

The Grizzlies are now off until Friday when they welcome Alaska to the E-Center for a 7:05 p.m. face-off. Tickets are on sale now at the E-Center box office or any Smith's Tix location.
