Sutton Placed on Seven Day IR, Brenk Waived

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced that defenseman Pat Sutton has been placed on the seven day injured reserve list and forward Jake Brenk has been waived.

Sutton has played in two games with the Ice Pilots this season and Brenk has played in three games with the Ice Pilots this year.

The Ice Pilots are also proud to announce that former Ice Pilots goalie Brian Eklund has been recalled to the Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL today for their game tonight vs. the Atlanta Thrashers.

Eklund played for the Ice Pilots for two years from 2002-2004. He posted a record of 48-23-7 for the Ice Pilots appearing in 81 games. Eklund set ECHL records during the 2003-04 season for saves (2,381) in a season and also led the league in wins (38), minutes (3,725) and overtime wins. He also set an ECHL playoff record with 83 saves in a double overtime loss to Louisiana on April 14, 2004.
