Szwez Scores Two, But Nailers Beat Bomber 4-3

Dayton, OH - The Dayton Bombers dropped a 4-3 decision to the Wheeling Nailers in front of 2,183 at the Ervin J. Nutter Center Sunday afternoon. Jeff Szwez scored twice for the Bombers, while Sean Collins recorded two goals, one assist and first star honors for the Nailers.

The teams exchanged goals in each of the first two periods. Jeff Szwez gave the Bombers a 1-0 lead with his third goal of the season at 2:35 of the opening period. The Nailers tied the game, 1-1, with a powerplay goal from Sean Collins at 13:27 of period one.

Wheeling took the lead for the first time at 10:45 of the second period when Kurtis McLean recorded his third goal of the season. Scott Cameron extended his season-opening point scoring streak to five games when he tied the game, 2-2, at 11:37 of period two.

Szwez scored his second goal of the day at 8:08 of the third period giving Dayton a 3-2 lead. But goals 27 seconds apart from Drew Fata (12:17) and Sean Collins (12:44)lifted Wheeling to the 4-3 victory.
