Utah Grizzlies News Release

WEST VALLEY CITY, UT - The Grizzlies home point streak reached four games with their shutout victory over the San Antonio Rampage who have lost four straight games. Utah used 35 saves by Jamie Storr and needed just Justin Cox's second period goal to improve to 9-5-0-1 in their last 15 home games.

Neither team could muster any offense in the first period as San Antonio outshot the Grizzlies 9-4 but Jamie Storr playing in his third game with Utah and making his home debut was solid stopping everything he faced.

The Grizzlies broke the scoreless tie at the 8:49 mark in the second period when Justin Cox forced a turnover, went down the right wing and finished the play beating goaltender Travis Scott on the shortside. For Cox it was his second goal in his last three games and fourth of the season. San Antonio outshot the Grizzlies 13-9 in the period but Storr was perfect through two period turning aside a total of 22 shots.

Jamie Storr was the story in the third period turning aside 13 shots en route to his first shutout of the season and the Grizzlies last shutout since last March. Utah finished the game getting outshot 35-20 but needed just the one goal to defeat the Rampage who have been shutout in each of their last two games and have scored just twice in their last four games.

Utah will host the Rampage again tomorrow night at the 'E' Center with face-off scheduled for 7:05 PM.
