Monarchs Recall Geisler; Sign Hayward

MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have recalled defenseman Beau Geisler (guh-ICE-ler) and signed right wing Leon Hayward to a professional tryout agreement, Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced on Saturday. Geisler, 24, a rookie out of Coleraine, Minnesota, has appeared in 45 games with the Monarchs ECHL affiliate, the Reading Royals, this season. The 5-foot-11, 187-pounder leads all Royals defensemen with 17 points (4-13=17). Geisler, who agreed to a one-year deal with the Monarchs in September of 2004, also ranks among the Royals defensive leadership with a plus-10 plus/minus rating. The former University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldog (19-79=98 in 159 career games with the Bulldogs) will wear jersey No. 55.

Hayward, 25, comes to the Monarchs after appearing in 25 games with the ECHL's Trenton Titans. The 5-foot-11, 200-pounder has 19 points (8-11=19) and 78 penalty minutes in the 25 games. Hayward, a former Monarch, has also appeared in 21 games with the Providence Bruins this season, scoring three points (1-2=3) and registering 27 penalty minutes. Hayward, who played four seasons with the Northeastern University Huskies (15-15=30 in 132 career games with the Huskies) before turning to the pro game in 2001-02, has 11 points (3-8=11) and 45 penalty minutes in 49 career games with the Monarchs over two seasons (2002-04). Hayward will wear jersey No. 72.

The Monarchs return to action on Saturday night when they host the Binghamton Senators, the top affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, at 7:35 p.m.

Ticket Availability: 20 seats (singles) in the Gold Level and 20 seats (singles) in the Silver level remain for Saturday's game against the Senators.
