BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have released right wing John Morlang from a professional tryout contract. Morlang has returned to the United Hockey League's Danbury Trashers.
Morlang has one goal, four assists, five points and 15 penalty minutes in 23 AHL games with the Sound Tigers, as well as 12 goals, 14 assists, 26 points and 40 penalty minutes in 32 UHL games with Danbury this season.
The Sound Tigers will host the Worcester IceCats at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard tomorrow, Sunday, February 20th at 4:05 p.m. The Sound Tigers, Shaw's Supermarkets and WEBE 108 FM will present the second-annual "Connecticut's Largest Baby Shower" tomorrow. Fans are asked to donate non-perishable baby supplies, which will benefit St. Vincent's Charities. All fans who donate will receive a voucher for a ticket to an upcoming Sound Tigers game.
