West Valley City, Utah -After giving up an early goal, Utah netminder Alfie Michaud stopped the next 19 shots on goal as the Utah Grizzlies defeated the Bakersfield Condors, 3-1, Monday night at the E-Center. The Condors opened up the scoring at the 2:38 mark on an even-strength goal courtesy of Kevin Truelson. The Grizzlies responded when Brad Herauf took feeds from Travis Rycroft and Scott Basiuk and scored his 13 th goal of the season, extending his point streak to three games. Ed Hill snapped the tie when he skated through traffic and fired the puck from the high slot, giving the Grizzlies the 2-1 advantage. Utah snapped a 0-23 scoreless streak on the power-play with Hill's goal. The Grizzlies out-shot the Condors 16-4, in the first period.

Both defenses got physical in the second period as neither team allowed any points to be put on the board. The Condors went 0-4 on the power-play while the Grizzlies went 0-1.

Alfie Michaud stopped some quality Bakersfield scoring chances and Ryan Kinasewich added in an insurance goal late in the third period to give the Grizzlies the 3-1 victory. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Grizzlies.
