Royals Notes:
- The Royals went 1-2-0 in the three games played this past week. Reading's record is now 42-21-7=91, which places the Royals in a tie for first place in the North Division of the American Conference and translates into a .650 win percentage-which is the eighth best win percentage in the league.
- The Royals' loss to the Wheeling Nailers last Tuesday at the Sovereign Center snapped a four game overall win streak, as well as a six game home win streak for Reading.
- The longest win streak of the regular season for the Royals extended seven games from November 11 through November 26, 2005.
- The longest home win streak of the regular season for the Royals extended seven games from October 29 through November 25, 2005.
- In last Tuesday's 5-4 loss to the Wheeling Nailers, Larry Courville scored the game's first two goals and picked up an assist, marking his second three point performance of the season for Reading.
- Courville also scored two goals-including the game winner-and picked up an assist in Friday's 4-3 victory in Wheeling.
- Courville's game winning goal on Friday, scored at the 8:54 mark of the third period (with the score tied at three), was his first game winner of the season.
- Courville's goals on Friday night extended a personal goal scoring streak to three games (5 goals), a streak that was snapped in Saturday's 4-2 loss to the Dayton Bombers.
- With his two goal game on Friday, Courville has now had three multi-goal games on the season and those all came within a span of six games over the course of ten days (03/21 - 03/31/06).
- With his three point performance on Friday, Courville has now had seven multi-point performances over the course of the season and six of those came in a span of nine games over the course of eighteen days (03/14 - 03/31/06).
- Courville did pick up an assist on one of the two Reading goals on Sunday, extending his personal point streak to four games (5g - 4a = 9pts).
- In his last ten games, Courville has racked up sixteen points (8g - 8a = 16pts).
- In the Royals' 5-4 loss to Wheeling last Tuesday, Doug Christiansen scored a power play goal (the Royals' third of the game), his fourteenth goal of the season scored while the team was on the power play, tying him with Dany Roussin for the team lead in that category.
- Christiansen also scored a goal and picked up an assist in the Royals' 4-3 win in Wheeling on Friday night, marking his team leading sixteenth multi-point performance of the season.
- Christiansen has scored seventeen points (10g - 7a = 17pts) over the course of his last sixteen games.
- Christiansen leads the Royals in goals (35) and points (65).
- Tyler Hanchuck scored the Royals' fourth goal (to tie the game at four with 8:36 remaining in regulation time) in Reading's 5-4 loss to Wheeling last Tuesday.
- Tuesday's goal was the fourth of the season for Tyler and three of those goals came over a span of four games and five days (03/24 - 03/28/06).
- Chris Bala picked up two assists in Tuesday's 5-4 loss to Wheeling, marking Bala's second consecutive multi-point game and his twelfth multi-point performance of the season.
- Bala also assisted on a goal in each of the Royals' other two games this week, extending his personal point streak to four games (1g - 5a = 6pts).
- Over the course of his last twelve games, Bala has racked up fourteen points (3g - 11a = 14pts).
- Yutaka Fukufuji was the goaltender for Reading in the 5-4 loss to Wheeling last Tuesday, stopping 23 of the 28 shots he faced in that game.
- Fukufuji also started the Royals' game on Saturday against the Dayton Bombers and stopped five of the six shots he faced; but he did not get a decision in that game as he was pulled at the 15:19 mark of the first period, when he appeared to sustain an injury.
- Over the course of the season, Fukufuji has compiled a record of 15-9-4 with a 2.93 goals against average and a .917 save percentage.
- In the Royals' 4-3 win in Wheeling on Friday night, Larry Courville scored the game winning goal for the Royals, as he became the eighteenth different player to score a game winning goal for Reading this year.
- In Reading's win in Wheeling on Friday night, the Royals entered the third period tied with the Nailers at three. This game marked the eighth time this season that Reading has won the game after entering the third period tied with the opponent. (The Royals' record is 8-3-3 under those circumstances.)
- Malcolm MacMillan scored the Royals' third goal (to tie the game at three while the Royals were on the power play) in the 4-3 win over Wheeling last Friday night.
- This goal snapped ten game goal scoring drought for MacMillan and was his second power play goal of the season.
- Eric Werner picked up two assists-including one on the game winner-in the Royals' 4-3 win in Wheeling on Friday night, marking his eighth multi-point game of the season.
- Werner also scored the Royals' second goal (to tie the game at two at the 6:56 mark of the third period) while Reading was on the power play, marking the sixth power play goal of the season (out of a total of twelve goals scored) for Werner this season.
- Cody Rudkowsky was the Royals' goaltender in the 4-3 win over Wheeling on Friday, stopping 31 of the 34 shots he faced that night.
- Rudkowsky also replaced Yutaka Fukufuji at the 15:19 mark of the first period in Saturday's 4-2 loss in Dayton. In that game, Rudkowsky was the goaltender of record, picking up the loss, while playing 42:23 and stopping 29 of the 32 shots he faced in that game.
- Over the course of the season, Rudkowsky has a record of 24-9-4 with a 2.43 (fourth best in the league) goals against average and a .918 save percentage.
- The Royals' first goal in Saturday's 4-2 loss to Dayton (which tied the game at one at the 13:35 mark of the second period) was scored by Jason Kostadine, snapping a 26 game goal scoring drought for him (dating back to a two-goal performance against the Greenville Grrrowl on February 10).
- Over the course of the three games this past week, the Royals scored five power play goals in sixteen chances with the man advantage, a 31.3% scoring ratio.
- In the last ten games, the Royals have scored eleven power play goals in 43 chances with the man advantage a 25.6% scoring ratio.
- Over the course of the season, Reading is 77 for 362 with the man advantage, a 21.3% scoring ratio, which is third in the league in that category.
- Over the course of the three games this past week, the Royals' penalty killers stopped twelve of the sixteen power play chances awarded to their opponents, an 75.0% kill ratio.
- In the last ten games, the Royals have allowed nine power play goals in 60 chances for the opponents with the man advantage, an 85.0% kill ratio.
- Over the course of the season, Reading has given up 64 power play goals against in 448 chances for the opposition, an 85.7% kill ratio, which is the second best in the league.
