Grizzlies Beat Bakersfield 7-4

West Valley City, Utah - The Utah Grizzlies (31-28-3-5) defeated the Bakersfield Condors 7-4 Wednesday night at the E-Center.

Utah started the scoring 1:47 into the first period on Tom May's 23rd goal of the year. May finished the Utah scoring with his 24th of the year 3:56 into the third period to make the score 7-2.

The Grizzlies countered both early Bakersfield goals with scoring runs. After Bakersfield made it 1-1 3:34 into the game, Utah countered with two goals in 2:10 from Ryan Kinasewich (43) and AJ Perry (26) and it was 3-1 at the first intermission.

Bakersfield made it 3-2 early in the second, but again the Grizzlies countered with goals from Kinasewich (44), Vlady Nikiforov (19) and Lance Galbraith (17) to make it 6-2 at the second intermission.

Mikko Koskinen made 14 big third period saves to improve to 3-0 with Utah who won for the third time in the last four contests.

10 Utah players scored in the game with Kinasewich (two goals, one assist), Nikiforov (one goal, one assist), May (two goals) and Brock Wilson (two assists) all recording multiple-point nights.

Utah and Bakersfield meet again Friday and Saturday at the E-Center as Utah completes their regular season home schedule. Face-off both evenings is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
