Grizzlies Acquire David Marshall from Wheeling

West Valley City, Utah - Utah Grizzlies Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin Colley announced today that the team has acquired David Marshall from the Wheeling Nailers in exchange for Paul and Tim Crowder.

Marshall, who currently is in the AHL with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, has 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points in 28 games for Wheeling. This year he has played 29 combined AHL games with Rochester, Worcester and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

"We're pleased to add a player the caliber of David to our organization," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "We're looking big picture right now and his playoff experience and previous success will be valuable to us."

The Minnesota native split last year between Charlotte (ECHL) and Lake Erie (AHL) where he totaled 23 goals and 11 assists for 34 points in 55 games with the Checkers. He also played in 11 playoff games in Charlotte and totaled four goals and five assists in nine games. He played four years of college hockey at Quinnipiac University.

The Grizzlies return home to open a six-game home stand Friday and Saturday to host Ontario at 7:05 p.m. each evening.
