ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today the team has acquired goaltender Jase Weslosky in a trade with the Idaho Steelheads for financial considerations.
Weslosky joins the Everblades having appeared in 20 games with Idaho this season, posting a record of 7-6-3 with a 2.94 goals against average and .910 save percentage. The 22-year-old didn't see his first action of the season until December when he was signed by the Steelheads and picked up a win in his first professional start on December 4 at Alaska making 31 saves in a 4-1 win.
Prior to joining the professional ranks this season the St. Albert, Alberta native finished up a three-year collegiate career at St. Cloud State University from 2006-09. In 72 career games with the Huskies Weslosky posted a 37-27-4 record with a 2.43 GAA and a .920 save percentage.
During his first two seasons at St. Cloud State the former 4th round draft pick by the New York Islanders in 2006 helped lead the team to the round of 16 in the NCAA Tournament. Weslosky posted his best season during his sophomore campaign in 2007-08 going 16-13-2 with a 2.12 GAA and a .931 save percentage in 33 games.
Imbeault & Lemieux Recalled to AHL
The Everblades also announced today that forwards Alex Imbeault and Francis Lemieux have both been recalled by the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League.
