Grand Rapids Griffins News Release
Grand Rapids Griffins (23-24-1-6) vs. Hamilton Bulldogs (28-19-1-4) TONIGHT 7 p.m. Van Andel Arena
* The Griffins tonight begin a stretch of three home games in five days with a crucial matchup against North Division power Hamilton, one of the teams Grand Rapids is chasing for a playoff berth. All four games between the Griffins and Bulldogs this season have been decided by one goal in regulation time, with each team winning twice.
* Grand Rapids will try to stretch its winning streak in Wednesday home games to five. It's a Winning Wednesday, so all fans who were in attendance for the Griffins' 3-2 win over Hamilton on Jan. 5 can redeem their ticket stubs for free tickets to tonight's game. Furthermore, if the Griffins beat the Bulldogs again, each fan in attendance can redeem their ticket stub for a free ticket to the March 16 game against Oklahoma City. Other promotions include Hockey Night, Library Night, Griff's Reading Goals and the post-game party at Peppino's downtown.
* Right wing Jan Mursak returns to the Griffins' lineup tonight after being assigned by the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday.
* Hamilton has lost four straight games and six of its last seven, with its only win in that span coming in 2-1 fashion in Grand Rapids on Feb. 4. Prior to that stretch, the Bulldogs had won six in a row (Jan. 12-26).
TICKETS: Tickets for tonight's game are available at The Zone at Van Andel Arena and all Star Tickets outlets, including Meijer stores. Call 222-4000 / 800-585-3737 or purchase online at griffinshockey.com .
