
P-Bruins Fall to Pirates 7-0

Portland, ME - The Providence Bruins fell to the Portland Pirates7-0 Wednesday evening at the Cumberland County Civic Center. Providence returns to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Friday at 7:05 p.m.for Reds Winter Night against the Pirates.
The Pirates took a 1-0 lead at the 4:09 mark of the opening period. Nick Crawford tallied his 5th goal of the season, while Tim Conboy and Dennis McCauley recorded the assists. Portland made it 2-0 at the 16:31 mark. Maxime Legault netted his tenth goal of the season, while Brian Roloff and Mark Mancari picked up the assists. The Pirates led 2-0 going into the first intermission.
Portland grabbed a 3-0 lead at the 5:02 mark of the second period, while on the power play. Crawford scored his second goal of the game and sixth goal of the season, with McCauley and Brian O'Hanley getting the assists. The Pirates extended their lead to 4-0 at the 15:26 mark, while on the power play. Luke Adam tallied his 14th goal of the season, with Marc-Andre Gragnani and Mancari grabbing the assists. Portland led 4-0 going into the second intermission.
The Pirates took a 5-0 advantage at the 1:47 mark of the third period. Mancari netted his 30th goal of the season, while Corey Tropp and Derek Whitmorehad the assists. Portland made it 6-0 at the 9:02 mark. Adam scored his second goal of the game and 15th of the season, while Crawford tallied the lone assist. The Pirates finished off the scoring at the 13:18 mark, while on the power play. Jacob Lagace tallied his third goal of the season with Adam and Whitmore picking up the assists. The Pirates went on to the 7-0 victory.
Matt Dalton stopped 20 of 27 shots for the P-Bruins, while David Leggiomade 23 saves for the Pirates. The P-Bruins were 0-for-2 on the power play and 8-for-11 on the penalty kill.
The P-Bruins are back in action at The Dunk Friday at 7:05 p.m. for Reds Winter Hat Night against the Pirates. The P-Bruins hit the road on Saturday to face the Connecticut Whale at 7:00 p.m. at Rentschler Field.
