Grandal Completes Rehab Assignment

(UPTOWN CHARLOTTE, NC) -- Chicago White Sox catcher Yasmani Grandal completed his rehab assignment with the Charlotte Knights and was activated off of Chicago's 10-day injured list today.

Grandal, 33, was originally placed on the club's 10-day injured list on June 13 (retroactive to June 12) with lower back spasms. Overall this season with the White Sox, Grandal has appeared in 50 games and is hitting .185 (32-for-173) with six runs scored, three doubles, two home runs and 15 RBIs.

With the Knights, Grandal appeared in six games on his rehab assignment and hit .333 (6-for-18) with four runs scored, one home run and one RBI. He also appeared in three games with Double-A Birmingham Barons on rehab and hit .429 (3-for-7) with one run scored, one home run and four RBIs.
