IronPigs lose to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre

(Allentown, PA) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (49-42) lost on Friday evening to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders by a score of 5-1. Michael Plassmeyer (2-1) allowed five runs off seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.

Oswaldo Cabrera gave the RailRiders a 1-0 lead against Plassmeyer and the 'Pigs in the top of the fourth inning as he hit his fourth home run of the season. The RailRiders added four more runs against Plassmeyer in the top of the fifth inning to take a 5-0 lead. Oswald Peraza hit an RBI single that scored Tyler Wade. Cabrera doubled to score Peraza and Miguel Andujar hit a two-run home run - his ninth of the season.

Scott Kingery hit a solo home run against Hayden Wesneski (6-7) in the bottom of the fifth inning to give Lehigh Valley their lone run of the game. The home run was Kingery's fourth of the season.

Zach Warren struck out two batters in 2/3 of an inning pitched. Ryan Sherriff, Mark Appel, Jace Fry and Tyler Cyr each pitched a scoreless inning of relief.

The IronPigs and RailRiders play again on Saturday evening at Coca-Cola Park. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 p.m.
