ALBANY, NY - Andrew Gordon scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Hershey Bears to a 5-2 victory over the Albany River Rats on Friday night at the Times Union Center.

Albany trailed 3-0 heading into the third period, but made it a one-goal game with two quick strikes from Jiris Tlusty and Jerome Samson. Tlusty batted-home a power play rebound from Jamie McBain at 11:34 and Samson netted his team-leading 20th of the season at 12:50 with a doorstep chip-in. Gordon reclaimed the Bears' two-goal cushion with his second marker of the game at 14:32 and Patrick McNeill put the contest out of reach with an empty net tally at 19:48.

Alexandre Giroux scored the games first goal at 13:54 of the opening period, beating goalie Mike Morrison in the veteran back-stop's first start as a River Rat. Albany almost escaped the frame with the one-goal deficit, but Gordon notched a power play goal with 2.1 seconds remaining for a 2-0 lead.

Francois Bouchard slipped a sharp angle attempt through Morrison for the second period's only score at 17:30 to give the Bears a three-goal cushion. Hershey goaltender Jason Bacashihua remained perfect through 40 minutes.

Bacashihua stopped 35-of-37 shots faced in the game and earned the win, as the Bears improved to 40-9-0-2 this season. Morrison stopped 27-of-31 in a losing effort, as the River Rats fell to 27-20-3-3 this year. Albany out-shot Hershey 37-32 in the contest and went 1-for-7 on the power play, while the Bears were 2-for-3 on the man-advantage.

Albany hosts the Binghamton Senators on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at the Times Union Center.
