Goldeyes Acquire Outfielders Marincov and Price

WINNIPEG, MB - The Winnipeg Goldeyes made two roster additions in advance of Friday's game, acquiring outfielders Tyler Marincov and John Price Jr. in separate trades.
Marincov (pronounced MAIR-in-cove) was acquired from the Kansas City T-Bones in exchange for a player to be named later. The Orlando, Florida native appeared in 19 games for Kansas City, batting .236 with three home runs and 11 RBI. Earlier this season, Marincov hit .250 with four homers and 15 RBI for the Atlantic League's High Point Rockers before he was traded to Kansas City in exchange for a player to be named later on July 21st. Marincov began 2019 with the Mexican League's Guerreros de Oaxaca where he hit five home runs and had 13 RBI in just 16 contests.
Marincov was drafted by the Oakland Athletics in the eighth round in 2013 out of the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida. A right-handed hitter and fielder, Marincov has reached the Double-A level three times in his career, and helped the Double-A Texas League's Midland RockHounds win championships in both 2016 and 2017. A right-handed hitter and fielder, Marincov is a .252 career hitter in seven professional seasons. The 27-year-old has averaged 85 runs scored, 33 doubles, 21 home runs, 92 RBI, 17 stolen bases, and 61 walks per 162 games as a professional.
Price was acquired Thursday from the Gary SouthShore RailCats in exchange for future considerations. The Gretna, Florida native hit .234 with three home runs and 20 RBI in 33 games for the RailCats this season, while seeing time in both centre and left field.
Price - who is also a right-handed hitter and fielder - combined for a .253 average with five homers and 17 RBI during his true rookie season in 2018, splitting time with the RailCats, the Frontier League's Gateway Grizzlies, and the Frontier League's Florence Freedom. The 27-year-old Price finished his college career at Faulkner University (Montgomery, Alabama) in 2017 where he batted .365 with 11 home runs and 55 RBI in 63 games.
Additionally, the Goldeyes placed outfielder Jonathan Moroney on the Disabled List and released right-handed pitcher Joel Seddon. Moroney sustained a lower-body injury beating out an infield single on Wednesday night at St. Paul.
The Goldeyes' active roster stands at the American Association maximum 23 players.
