Atlanta Gladiators News Release
DULUTH, Ga. - Last week the Gladiators managed to go 1-1, with that win coming against one of the top teams in the ECHL in the South Carolina Stingrays. This week, Gwinnett (7-15-0-2) gears up for two more matchups with the Stingrays, with one coming at home on Friday and another in North Charleston on Saturday.

Scouting the Opponents:
- The South Carolina Stingrays (17-3-1-2) come into the week second in the ECHL in winning percentage, despite losing several to players to the American Hockey League. The Gladiators topped the Rays 3-2 last Friday, handing South Carolina justtheir third regulation loss of the season and first on the road.
- The Stingrays are led by their stout goaltending tandem, and have allowed just 10 goals in their last eight games. Former Gladiator Jeff Jakaitis (13-1-1-2, 1.68, .938) leads the ECHL in wins, goals against average, and is second insave percentage. Former NHLer David LeNeveu (2-2, 1.51, .947) has also beenterrific since signing with South Carolina.

Friday, December 13th: South Carolina 2, @ Gwinnett 3 - W
With a new look lineup in place, the Gwinnett Gladiators defeated the South Carolina Stingrays, 3-2 Friday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in front of 8,010 fans on night 1 of Sing for Santa 2013. It's the second time this season that Gwinnett (7-14-0-2) has beaten the team with the best record in the league, this time thanks in large part to the play of the five newest Gladiators who were acquired in the past week.
Sunday, December 15th: Orlando 2, @ Gwinnett 2 - L
Closing out a busy week, the Gwinnett Gladiators fell to their South Division foes, the Orlando Solar Bears, 5-2, Sunday afternoon at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. Playing with their third goaltender in two games this weekend, Gwinnett wasn't able to slow down Orlando as their offense converted five of their 26 shots on net.
Glads Notes:
New Kids on the Block: The Gladiators made several moves last week, trading for defenseman Antoine Corbin from the Cincinnati Cyclones, and making a five-player deal with the Fort Wayne Komets. In exchange for forward Mike Embach and defenseman Nathan Martine, the Gladiators received forwards Bobby Hughes and Brett Lyon, along with defenseman Rob Kwiet.
So Hot Right Now...: Maxime Legault has two goals and an assist over his past two games ... Antoine Corbin has an assist in each of his first two games as a Gladiator ... Joey Haddad has at least a point in four of six games ... defenseman Daniel Spivak has only finished as a minus in three of 19 games played this season.
Special Special Teams: Over their last 16 games, the Gladiators have held the opposition to 3-for-48 on the power play, and 0-for-12 in their past four games. On the season Gwinnett ranks 5th in the ECHL, killing off 87.5% of opposing power plays. On the man advantage, Gwinnett is 3-for-16 (18.7%) over its prior four games.
Shooting Gallery: The Gladiators have compiled 29 or more shots on goal in eight games in a row.
Milestones: Evan Bloodoff skated in his 75th game as a Gladiator last Friday ... Antoine Corbin played in his 50th game as a pro on Sunday ... Bobby Hughes is eight games away from 100 in the ECHL.
Snippets: The Gladiators are 7-4-0-2 Monday through Friday, but 0-11 on Saturday and Sunday ... Gwinnett is 6-6 when scoring first, but 1-9-0-2 when the opposition scores first.
