Parker Milner Reassigned to Thunder from Bridegport
December 16, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Stockton Thunder News Release
Stockton, Calif. - The Brideport Sound Tigers, Stockton's AHL affiliate, have re-assigned goaltender Parker Milner to the Thunder, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Rich Kromm announced Monday. It is Milner's second stint in the ECHL with the Thunder this season.
Milner, 23, started the year in Stockton where he appeared in 5 games for the Thunder, going 1-4-0-0 with a .902 save percentage and a 3.22 goals against average. The first year pro was recalled to the AHL on November 17th as part of a chain reaction in the New York Islanders organization when NHL goaltender Evgeni Nabokov went down with an injury.
"We're happy to have him back," said Kromm. "He had a good run up there from what I understand. [Bridgeport Head Coach] Scott Pellerin has had some good things to say about him. We've got some important games coming up here and hopefully he'll be ready to go."
The Pittsburgh, PA native went 1-2-0-0 in four games with the Sound Tigers, winning his first AHL game on December 6th against the Utica Comets. Before turning pro, Milner spent four years at Boston College where he won two NCAA championships with the Eagles and was named the "Most Outstanding Player" of the 2012 NCAA Frozen Four during his junior year.
