Gladiators Sign Goaltender Hevey

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have signed goaltender Randy Hevey while defenseman Brian Sipotz and winger Adam Smyth have been recalled to the Gladiators AHL affiliate Chicago Wolves.

Hevey began the season with the Mississippi Sea Wolves where he appeared in three games posting a 3.88 goals against average and a .880 save percentage. The Chicopee, Massachusetts native made 22 saves in a 4-3 shootout win against the Gladiators on October 30th.

The 6-foot, 185-pound goaltender began his professional career with the Jacksonville Barracudas of the WHA2 last year, posting a 25-9-1 record and a .918 save percentage.

In two games with the Gladiators, Smyth tallied an assist in the Gladiators 6-1 win on Friday against the Mississippi Sea Wolves. The Wiarton, Ontario native appeared in one game with the Chicago Wolves this season before being assigned to Gwinnett on November 4th.

Sipotz did not register a point with the Gladiators during last weekend's action. The Granger, IN native was Selected by Atlanta Thrashers round 4 #100 overall 2001 NHL Entry Draft. In four games this season in Chicago before being assigned to the Gladiators, Sipotz recorded an assists with the Wolves.

The Central Division Champion Gwinnett Gladiators continue their second season at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on Tuesday, November 8th at 7:05 p.m. as they host Texas.
