Friday, November 5

Wheeling 2 @ Dayton 0

The Nailers lost their first three road games of the season, including one in Dayton, before beating the Bombers for their first win away from home. Jason Jaffray, Wheeling's leading scorer from a season ago, scored his first goal of the season at 11:44 of the second period to give the Nailers a 1-0 lead. James Laux assisted on the Jaffray goal. The Nailers increased their lead to 2-0 on a Pascal Morency goal just 53 seconds into the third period with Ed McGrane and Kenny Corupe assisting. Dany Sabourin recorded his first shutout of the season making 34 saves for the win.

Saturday, November 6

Reading 0 @ Wheeling 2

The Nailers were eliminated from the playoffs last season by the Royals, this was the first game this season between these two teams. For the fourth consecutive game the Nailers took a 1-0 lead. Mark Kosick scored at 7:16 of the first period from Cliff Loya and Jason Jaffray. The final goal of the game was scored with one second remaining in regulation. Jaffray scored an empty net goal from Kosick. Dany Sabourin recorded his second consecutive shut out by making 30 saves in the win.

Sunday, November 7

Reading 5 @ Wheeling 0

After shutting out the opposition two straight nights, the Nailers suffered their second loss of the season by shut out in the weekend finale. Reading scored the only goal of the first period to take a 1-0 lead. The Nailers are 0-4-0 when their opponents score first, 4-0-0 when the Nailers score first. Reading added to their lead with four second period goals, one was a power play goal and another was a shorthanded goal. Joe Exter took the loss and Dany Sabourin extended his shutout streak with a scoreless third period in goal.

Thursday, November 11

Reading @ Wheeling 7:00p.m.

The Nailers host the Royals for the third consecutive game. Each team has one win in the season series, each by shut out. This game will be Thirsty Thursday at WesBanco Arena with $1 beer prices all night. The Nailers will also have a special guest for the game, ABC's The Bachelor, Byron Velvic will be signing autographs throughout the game.

Friday, November 12

Wheeling @ Reading 7:30p.m.

The Nailers travel to Reading for the first time this season. This will be the fourth consecutive game the Nailers will have played against the Royals.

Sunday, November 14

Peoria @ Wheeling 5:05p.m.

The Nailers play Peoria for the first time this season. KoSports and Advance Auto Parts will sponsor the Nailers first set of Trading Cards featuring Mark Kosick, Brendon Hodge, Ben Blais and coach Pat Bingham. The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive the trading cards. After the game will be a skate with the Nailers for all fans.

Nailers Player of the Week:

The Nailers Player of the Week is Jason Jaffray. Jaffray had the game-winning goal in the Nailers 2-0 win on Friday in Dayton and one goal and one assist in the Nailers 2-0 win Saturday against Reading.

Nailers Goaltender of the Week:

The Nailers Goaltender of the Week is Dany Sabourin. Sabourin was 2-0-0 last week, winning back to back games by shutout. He finished the week making 72 saves on 72 shots. His season goals against average is now 0.91 with a save percentage of .970.
