Friday, November 5th â The new Dayton Bombers three-game winning streak came to an end when the Wheeling Nailers posted a 2-0 shutout victory in front of 3,159 at the Nutter Center. Following a scoreless first period, Jason Jaffray scored his first goal of the season at 11:44 of period two to give Wheeling a 1-0 lead. Later in the second period, PRESTON MIZZI fired a shot past Nailers goaltender Dany Sabourin, but the puck rang off the goalpost and the Nailers maintained their 1-0 advantage. Pascall Morency scored an insurance goal :53 seconds into the third period, and Wheeling beat Dayton, 2-0. The Bombers are 1-1-0 against Wheeling this season, with eight more meetings scheduled. ANDREW PENNER finished the game with 34 saves, while Dany Sabourin recorded the 34-save shutout for Wheeling.
Sunday, November 7th - The new Dayton Bombers posted their largest margin of victory this season with a 4-1 win over the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies in front of 2,039 at the Nutter Center Sunday afternoon. The Bombers opened the scoring as TYLER KOLARIK recorded his second goal of the season at 13:52 of the first period. Dayton goaltender ANDREW PENNER was spectacular at times, and recorded 13 saves in the first period to help preserve the 1-0 lead after 20 minutes. Penner finished with 40 saves, and first star honors, on the day. The Bullies tied the game, 1-1, when Dan Peters tipped a shot past Penner at 9:06 of the second period. The goal that proved to be the game-winner was scored when PRESTON MIZZI deflected a shot from GRADY MOORE under the crossbar on the powerplay, and the Bombers led 2-1 after two periods. AARON FOSTER took a nice drop pass from JANNE JOKILA and scored his second of the season at 3:41 of the third period to give Dayton a 2-goal cushion, 3-1.
