Titans remain undefeated at 5-0-0

TRENTON, NJ - The Trenton Titans record remains perfect at 5-0-0 after wins over the Charlotte Checkers and Johnstown Chiefs this weekend.

Rick Kowalsky scored two goals in the first period and the Titans went 2-for-4 on the power play as they took down the Checkers 4-1 at Cricket Arena. Chris Houle made 45 saves to get the win in his first outing of the year.

The Titans returned home to Sovereign Bank Arena on Saturday and edged out the Chiefs for a 3-2 shootout win. The Titans twice fought back from one-goal deficits as Andrew Allen stopped 5 of 6 in the shootout to clinch the win.

The Titans continue their three-game homestand as they face-off against the Johnstown Chiefs on Wednesday, November 10 at 7:00pm and the Dayton Bombers on Friday, November 12 at 7:30pm. Trenton then travels down to Atlantic City to take on the Boardwalk Bullies on Saturday, November 13 at 7:05pm.

Friday, November 5 @ Charlotte, 7:00pm W 4-1 Cricket Arena

- The Trenton Titans raced to a 3-0 lead in the first period with the help of Rick Kowalsky's goal just 15 seconds into the contest. Leon Hayward and Kowalsky added goals on the power play for while Mike Harder chipped one in on the Checkers' man-advantage to make it 3-1 Titans after on period. Despite managing only three shots in the third period, the Titans extended their lead to three on B.J. Abel's first goal of the season. Chris Houle had 45 saves and recorded the win in his first outing of the season.

Saturday, November 6 vs. Johnstown, 7:00pm W 3-2 (SO) Sovereign Bank Arena

- Brent Kelly's first goal of the season helped put the Chiefs up 1-0 at the end of the first period. Nick Deschenes would help the Titans tie it up with his first goal of the season coming at 7:02 of the second. Kelly added his second goal of the night later in the period to once again give the Chiefs a one-goal lead. In the final frame, Scott Bertoli put B.J. Abel's face-off win through the five-holeof David Currie to make it 2-2. After a scoreless overtime, Andrew Allen stopped 5 of 6 shots in the shootout, while Bertoli and Mathieu Brunelle scored to clinch the win.

Wednesday, November 10 vs. Johnstown, 7:00pm 1350-AM Moneytalk Sovereign Bank Arena

- The second game in a row between the two teams. The Titans took down the Chiefs in dramatic fashion on Saturday with a 3-2 shootout win to raise their record to 5-0-0. The Titans lead the all-time series 22-12-4.

Friday, November 12 vs. Dayton, 7:30pm 91.3-FM WTSR Sovereign Bank Arena

- The first match out of ten for the Titans and Bombers. Trenton went 5-1-1 versus Dayton last season and leads the all-time series 16-5-1.

Saturday, November 13 @ Atlantic City, 7:05pm 91.3-FM WTSR Boardwalk Hall

- The second of ten games against Atlantic City. The Titans defeated the Boardwalk Bullies in their home opener 2-1. Andrew Allen made 26 saves to record his third win a row. Trenton leads the all-time series 17-11-3.

November 8 - 28 - The Titans Food Drive will be collecting canned foods and non-perishable items at all home games through Sunday, November 28 when the Titans take on the Long Beach Ice Dogs at 3:00pm. Collection bins will be set up at each entrance at Sovereign Bank Arena and all items will be donated to charities throughout Mercer County.
