Atlanta Gladiators News Release
Jim Jackson posted his 10th goal of the season for the Gladiators but it wasn't enough in a 2-1 loss against the Grrrowl nn Saturday night at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville.
Kevin Bergin flicked the puck past the outstretched arm of Gladiators goaltender Adam Berkhoel 5:23 into the first period to give the Grrrowl a 1-0 lead. Alex Kojevnikov slid the puck across the crease to a waiting Bergin to pick up an assist on the tally. Daryl Pierce also picked up a helper on the tally.
Greenville extended its lead to 2-0, 1:24 into the third period as Brock Radunske beat Berkhoel on a breakaway. Radunske intercepted a Gladiators outlet pass in the neutral zone for the unassisted goal.
Jim Jackson broke the shutout by Greenville netminder Jeff Deslauriers with a slap shot on the power play from the high slot 7:54 into the final period. Mike Vigilante found Jackson sliding in from the point to pick up an assist. Chris Durno also picked up an assist on the goal.
