
Second period meltdown results in 12-3 final

Victoria, BC â The Victoria Salmon Kings were in Boise on Friday to face the Idaho Steelheads, for the first of a weekend double header.
The Ryan's, Wade and Watson clicked again with Wade's cashing in his twelfth goal of the season. Chris Corrinet clicked on the powerplay for his fifth of the campaign and Jason Hegberg clicked for his first goal, in twenty games.
Unfortunately for the shorthanded, Head Coachless, defenseless, Victoria Salmon Kings, three clicks were not enough. The Idaho Steelheads clicked twice in the first, seven times in the second period and three more in the third to defeat the Salmon Kings 12-3.
Frantisek Lukes opened the scoring with his eleventh, followed by Bobby Russell's fifteenth and the Steelheads went to the break up 2-0.
The floodgates opened on the fish in the second, Brett Draney scored his tenth, Warren Peter's his fourteenth, Lance Galbraith his first, Scott Burt his thirteenth, Galbraith finished the hat-trick with his second and third of the season, and Brett Draney finished it off by scoring his eleventh, and second of the period.
Matt Elich opened the third on the same note as the Steelheads ended the second, scoring his seventh followed by Luke's twelfth and Burt his fourteenth, the latter two goals were their second of the night.
The Salmon Kings were without Dale Purinton, Jim Gattoliat and Dennis Mullen who missed their first game of their suspensions as well Brad Dexter, Corey Smith, Aaron Plumb, Craig Zubersky were all out of the line-up due to injury. Ryan Esselmont has missed the last two, was a game time decision, so that left Nate Forster and Adam Campbell as the only available defensemen.
