Gladiators Bolster Offense; Acquire Embach From Cincinnati

DULUTH, Ga. - The Gwinnett Gladiators bolstered their offense on Wednesday, acquiring forward Mike Embach from the Cincinnati Cyclones for future considerations.

Embach, 25, had two assists in five games during the 2013-14 campaign for Cincinnati. Last season he scored 18 goals and added 16 assists in 55 games with the Cyclones, while also picking up an assist in two games with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League.

The third year pro stepped up for the Cyclones in the playoffs during their run to the Eastern Conference Final, leading the team in points with 17 (five goals, 12 assists) in 17 games. The Orland Park, IL native scored three game-winning goals in the postseason, including the deciding goal in Game Six of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against Gwinnett.

In 132 career ECHL games so far between Cincinnati and the defunct Chicago Express Embach has 31 goals and 31 assists. He also has 132 NCAA games under his belt at Ferris State University.

The Gladiators are members of the ECHL, the nation's premier "AA" hockey league and are affiliated with the Phoenix Coyotes of the NHL. All home games are played at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
