TONIGHT:

The defending Pacific Division Champion Ontario Reign (5-1-1-3) face the Idaho Steelheads (4-4-0-1) at CenturyLink Arena. In their previous meeting earlier this season, the Reign and Steelheads split the series with a shootout win apiece. The Reign took the first game 4-3 and the Steelheads followed suit with a 4-3 win the next night in Idaho.

HOME AND AWAY:

As the Reign get to the midway point of their seven-game, three state, and five opponent road trip, the Steelheads are concluding a six-game homestand tonight in Idaho. The Steelheads are 2-2-0-1 in the past five home games played against Ontario and Alaska. The Reign are 2-1-0-1 in their past five games against Idaho, San Francisco, and Utah.

THE USUAL SUSPECTS:

Four of the Reign's top five scorers against the Steelheads in 2012-13 are returning players and will dress tonight. Last year's series leaders were: Derek Couture (5g, 6a), Dan DaSilva (4g, 4a), Cameron Burt (1g, 6a), and Mario Lamoureux (2g, 4a). Lamoureux just returned from his first-ever AHL call-up to the Oklahoma City Barons, where the Reign's fourth leading scorer against the Steelheads last year, C.J. Stretch, is currently playing.

Idaho doesn't have any of their top scorers from last year on their roster but they do have former Reign goalie Chris Carrozzi, who, while with Ontario, was the Reign's weakest goaltender against the Steelheads with a series goals-against average of 5.21 and a 0.783 save percentage in three starts.

POWER "REIGN"KINGS:

With some physical matches in Utah, the Reign now lead the league in penalty minutes with an average of 23.10 per game. Ontario ranks in the middle of the league on the penalty kill with an 85.7% success rate; Idaho has had some troubles with their penalty kill with an overall average of 78.9% which ranks second to last in the league. The Steelheads at-home power play is among the best in the league as they have converted six of 21 power-play opportunities for 28.6%. The Reign are just two for 26 on their road power play for just 7.7%
