Gimenez Big Hits Lead Ponies Past Baysox, Snaps Seven-Game Skid

Bowie, MD - The Binghamton Rumble Ponies (26-36, 61-65) snapped a season-long seven-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Bowie Baysox (39-20,69-58) on Tuesday night at Prince George's Stadium. Andres Gimenez had the game-tying solo homer in the fifth and the two-out go-ahead RBI single in the eighth, finishing 3-5 with two RBI.

Blake Taylor loaded the bases with no out in the ninth but got Anderson Feliz to ground into a force-out at home on a bare-handed pick and throw by third basemen Gavin Cecchini. Carlos Perez then grounded to third and Cecchini completed the double play to end the game. Taylor earned his third save of the year.

Adonis Uceta (5-3) received the win as he pitched one and two thirds scoreless frames. Zach Lee allowed three runs over six and a third innings with no walks and four strikeouts in the no-deciison. Lee was making his first start with Binghamton since July 28. Bpwie LHP Zack Muckenhirn (3-5) takes the loss giving up the go-ahead hit to Gimenez in the eighth.

The Ponies were up 2-1 in the fourth before Ryan Ripken responded with a two-run homer in the bottom of the frame. Gimenez though responded immediately with a leadoff homer to right-center to begin the fifth, his seventh of the year.

Patrick Mazeika also had three hits, including two doubles. Cecchini was on base three times as well.

The Rumble Ponies and Baysox close out their season-series on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is at 12:05 on CBS Sports Radio 1360 AM WYOS and on the Binghamton Rumble Ponies channel on TuneIn. The Horizons Federal Credit Union Pre-game show begins at 11:50AM.

POSTGAME NOTES: The Ponies despite being 1-for-16 with runners in scoring position, drew 8 walks from Bowie pitching...The Ponies are now 37-0 when leading after eight innings.
