TONIGHT'S MATCHUP: The Adirondack Thunder continue their four-in-five set this evening as they host the Reading Royals at Cool Insuring Arena. Adirondack enters tonight's action with points from three straight games, extended in a 3-2 overtime loss last evening in Manchester.

THE HATEFUL EIGHT: Adirondack center Brian Ward collected a point for the eighth straight game as he had a goal and an assist yesterday in Manchester. Ward, who has also scored a goal in six straight road games, became the third Thunder skater to reach the 40-point mark this season with 22 goals and 18 assists. Ward's 22 tallies lead the Thunder and are tied for 14th in the ECHL leaguewide.

DES CAUGHT IT: Thunder defenseman Desmond Bergin also found the back of the net yesterday as he opened the scoring just over three minutes into the game. Bergin's tally was his 11th of the season, which ties him for seventh in the ECHL in goals by a defenseman. The Harvard graduate has amassed 34 points (11-23-34) from 48 games played this season, the most amongst all Adirondack blueliners.

ROAD WARRIOR: Adirondack forward Terrence Wallin picked up a pair of assists last evening, the fourth multi-assist game of his ECHL career. With the helpers, Wallin extended his away scoring streak to nine games dating back to mid-December. The UMass-Lowell graduate has now tallied 37 points (17-20-37) overall this season, good for single-season career highs in goals, assists and points.

CRUNCHITIZE ME: Adirondack got reinforcements from up the Thruway this week as three players joined the Thunder from Syracuse. Most recent to return was forward Pierre-Luc Mercier, who was released from his PTO yesterday. Syracuse also loaned forward Shane Conacher to Adirondack, who leads the Thunder with 31 assists, as well as defenseman Matthew Spencer, who scored his first career ECHL goal on Wednesday.

CASE IN POINT: With the overtime defeat last evening in Manchester, Adirondack is now riding a three-game point streak entering tonight's action. The current run marks the fifth time this season that the Thunder have had a point streak of three games or longer. The point last evening moves Adirondack into sole possession of second place in the North Division standings with 64 points overall this season.

HOW THE TABLES HAVE TURNED: After the Thunder began the season with a 0-5-1 record in their first six meetings against the Royals, they have rebounded with victories in five of the last six matchups. Adirondack now sits at 5-6-1 against the Royals this season and trails only 14-11 in points between the two teams. The divisional rivals will meet once more after tonight's game on March 31 at Cool Insuring Arena.
