Mavs Minutes
Snapped The Skid
The Mavericks snapped an eight-game skid with a come-from-behind 6-3 win over the Allen Americans in last night's game. KC erased a 3-1 second-period deficit with five unanswered goals over the game's final 22 minutes in the team's first victory of February and first win in 24 days.
Comeback Kids
The Mavericks trailed 3-2 through two periods before lighting the lamp four times in the final frame en route to the win. The victory was the Mavs' fourth of the season when trailing after two periods and was only the third time this season that Allen did not get a point when leading after 40 minutes.
Pauly, Brooks Lead The Way
Shawn Pauly and Alex Brooks each finished the game with two goals en route to the win. Brooks's first of the season was big, coming with less than two minutes remaining in the second period to swing momentum back in the Mavericks' favor entering the final frame. Pauly's were also crucial, the forward registering the game-tying and game-winning goals back-to-back in the third.
Power Play Streaking
The Mavericks' power play enters Saturday's game on a four-game goal-scoring streak, matching the longest of the campaign. It's the first time that KC has strung together four games with a PPG since Jan. 27 through Feb. 3. The Mavericks have won 18 of 29 games when scoring on the man-advantage and are 14-2-0-1 when outscoring opponents on the power play.
Mountain Climbers
The Mavericks enter Saturday's game with a record of 13-10-0-1 against Mountain Division teams, their best record against any division in the ECHL. KC owns a 3-2 lead in the season series against Allen and is 1-1-1 against Colorado, 5-1 against Tulsa, 1-1 against Rapid City and 3-5 against Wichita.
