Kevin Morris returns from Binghamton; Evan Cowley Assigned by Springfield

MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today that Kevin Morris has been returned from loan by the Binghamton Devils (AHL) and Evan Cowley has been assigned to the Monarchs by the Springfield Thunderbirds (AHL).

The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings.

Morris, 24, returns to Manchester after playing in 12 games for the Devils this season, posting two assists, while recording 11 penalty minutes. Morris has played in 21 games this season for the Monarchs, racking up nine goals and seven assists for 16 points.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound native of Massena, N.Y., has now appeared in 93 games for the Monarchs in his career, totaling 27 goals and 27 assists for 54 points. Morris has 16 AHL games under his belt since departing from Miami University in 2016, including 14 games for the Devils and two games for the Syracuse Crunch during the 2016-17 season.

Cowley, 22, returns to the Monarchs after being called up by the Thunderbirds on Dec. 5. With Manchester, Cowley has posted a 4-4-1 record this season, along with a 3.21 goals against average and a 0.904 save percentage. In 14 games with the Thunderbirds, Cowley has posted a 5-5-1 record, a 3.13 goals against average and a .901 save percentage.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound native of Evergreen, Colo., was drafted by the Florida Panthers (92nd overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft and won a National Championship with the University of Denver last season. With the Pioneers, Cowley posted a 5-2-0 record, 0.955 save percentage and a 1.13 GAA in his senior season.

Morris, Cowley and the Monarchs are back in action Saturday, Feb. 24 (6 p.m.), when they host the Worcester Railers at SNHU Arena.
