Matchup:
After two closely contested games on Thursday and Friday, Orlando and Gwinnett meet up this afternoon for the final time in the 2012-13 season. The three game series between the two clubs began with a 5-4 Gladiators win over Orlando in a back-and-forth contest, and Gwinnett followed it up with a 3-1 win over the Solar Bears on Friday night. That contest saw the Gladiators jump out to a 3-0 halfway through the second period, but the Solar Bears avoided the shutout when a shot from D Derick Martin was deflected in front of the Gladiators net and trickled over the line to put Orlando on the board with 53 seconds left in the game. The final 3-1 score was just the third time this season (in 11 games played between the two clubs) that Orlando and Gwinnett have had a game decided by more than one goal. The Solar Bears are 2-8-1-0 against the Gladiators this season.
