Ontario Reign News Release

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Ontario Reign (43-16-3-4), back-to-back Pacific Division Champions and proud affiliate of the NHL's 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, held on to beat Stockton Thunder (33-26-5-4) 1-0 at Stockton Arena before a crowd of 8,155 on Saturday night.

Kyle Kraemer had the first and only goal of the night. Kevin Estrada and Cameron Burt moved the play behind the Thunder net out to Kraemer at the right faceoff dot who was wide open. The Reign winger snapped the shot past Olivier Roy for his 14th point against the Thunder this season.

A scoreless second period saw nothing more than a fight between Justin Pender and Garet Hunt as the game took a bit of a chippy turn for the final meeting of the regular season between the two teams.

Through the third period, the Reign switched from being on the power play to being on the penalty kill with penalties for both teams for about five minutes of play. At one point both sides had just three skaters on the ice, a rare sight in regulation hockey. A last minute burst of energy from the Thunder wasn't enough to beat rookie goaltender Troy Redmann who earned his first professional shutout stopping all 27 Thunder shots. Roy took the loss with 25 saves on 26 shots. Three Stars: 1. ONT - Troy Redmann 2. ONT - Kyle Kraemer 3. STK - Garet Hunt
