Game Preview: Guelph Storm vs Sarnia Sting
December 8, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Guelph Storm News Release
The Guelph Storm are back at home for some mid-week action as the Sarnia Sting come to take on the Storm. The puck drops at 7:00pm.
The Storm enter this week 14-7-1-1 after a weekend road trip which saw them go 1-1-0-0. On the last game of the road trip the Storm were able to beat the Spirit 2-1 in a hard-fought win. Coming back home the Storm are taking on the Sting, who they have a season series of 2-0, where the Storm have won games 2-1 and 4-3. With the Storm currently sitting 2nd in conference standings tonight should be another hard-fought game.
The Sarnia Sting are coming off a 5-3 loss to the Kitchener Rangers on the weekend and have a record of 9-10-3-0. Sarnia are 2-3 in their last 5 games but continue to be on the wrong side of close games. Last time the Sting were in Guelph they were able to get the game to overtime but lost to a Sasha Pastujov tally in the extra frame. Both games against Guelph have been close resulting in 1 goal games, tonight should be no different and should be an intense close game.

Players to Watch:
Guelph Storm - Luka Profaca
The top line defenceman has looked strong in his 3rd OHL season, with 11 points in 23 games. He is third in defensive points on the team and is a key part to success at both ends of the ice. Profaca was also on a 4-game point streak which saw him tally 4 assists before the game on Saturday against the Spirit when that streak was broken. Watch out for Profaca tonight when the Sting come to take on the Storm.
Sarnia Sting - Ty Voit
Since his last time playing against the Storm, Voit has been able to tally up the assists, with a total of 20 assists in 21 games Voit leads the team in assists. With 7 goals his total of points sits at 27, he also leads the team in points overall. Tonight, he is a player to watch as he seems to be involved on most Sarnia goals.
