December 8, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Brantford Bulldogs News Release
HAMILTON, ONTARIO. The Bulldogs were back at the FirstOntario Centre to face the Oshawa Generals before heading on their two-game road trip this weekend, looking to make it back-to- back home ice victories.
The first period, both teams battled hard to open the scoring with Marco Costantini & Patrick Leaver keeping the door shut. After a Mark Duarte goal was disallowed due to a high stick, Logan Morrison opened the scoring at 13:17, his 7th goal of the season from Ryan Humphrey and Nathan Staios. The Bulldogs weren't finished and were hungry for more, Navrin Mutter walked all over the Oshawa defense to get his 5th of the season with help from the pass of Patrick Thomas at 14:35 to give the Bulldogs a 2-goal lead with Costantini standing tall behind his young defence.
The Bulldogs played a smart and physical second period to keep Oshawa at bay. Both teams had their chances but couldn't capitalize through the first 10 minutes of the period thanks to the handywork of
Costantini and Leaver. The Bulldogs powerplay unit lead the team to another goal at 16:55 by Jan Mysak for his 16th of the season from the cycle work of George Diaco and Nathan Staios. The Bulldogs ended the period holding a 3-0 lead with Costantini keeping his goal clean.
The Bulldogs kept the third period cool, clam, and collected by setting the pace of play to stay on top of their three-goal lead. Oshawa fought hard to crack Costantini during the period but couldn't get one through the wall between the pipes for the Bulldogs. Hamilton added their fourth goal of the night with Ryan Humphrey picking up his 8th of the season scoring a backdoor tap in at 15:34 with Morrison and Avery Hayes picking up the assists. Costantini finished the game stopping all 16 shots he faced to give the Bulldogs a 4-0 lead, Costantini 's 2nd shutout of the season, sending the Bulldogs on their two-game road trip with momentum.
The Hamilton Bulldogs begin their two-game road trip Friday night against the Kingston Frontenac s with 7:00pm start at the Leon's Centre.
