Overage Forward Alex Johnston Commits to 67's

The Ottawa 67's announced, today, that overage forward Alex Johnston has officially committed to the team.

"Alex is a hard-working and competitive player, with experience in the Ontario Hockey League," said general manager James Boyd, "His addition will provide stability, and maturity to our lineup."

A local player, hailing from Stittsville, the 20 year-old Johnston was drafted 118th overall by the Soo Greyhounds in 2017. His rookie 2017-18 season saw him suit up for 56 regular season games, scoring seven goals and nine assists for 16 points. Johnston also appeared in 11 postseason games, adding three goals and an assist for four points.

In the pandemic-shortened 2019-20 campaign, Johnston played in all 64 games, tallying 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points.

Johnston has played two games with the Nanaimo Clippers of the BCHL, this season, scoring a goal and an assist.

The Barber Poles return to action Wednesday evening, hosting the Peterborough Petes. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00pm EST.
