About Tonight's Game: Tonight's South Division match-up features a rematch of last year's first round playoff series between the Jacksonville Icemen and the Florida Everblades. The Icemen are coming off a successful week after posting a 2-0-1 mark to pull within just three points of playoff positioning. The Icemen are unbeaten in regulation in their last three games and have won back-to-back home games (Nov. 20 vs. Indy and Nov. 27 vs. Greenville). Meanwhile the Everblades are coming off a western road swing which took them to Utah last week, logging a 1-0-1-1 mark. Florida ranks second in the South Division and trails first place South Carolina by three points.
Series History: The Everblades lead the All-Time Series 24-4-2, while the Icemen lead the season series 1-0-0 following a 4-3 victory at Florida back on November 9.
About the Icemen: The two brothers, Emerson and Everett Clark each recorded five points in the three games last week. Emerson scored three goals and added two assists, while Everett scored twice with three helpers. Veteran John Albert registered four points last week which included a two-goal performance this past Saturday at Norfolk....Chase Lang leads the icemen with eight goals and 14 points, and orchestrated a three-point (2g, 1a) outing in the previous meeting with Florida back on November 9....Heading into tonight's game, goaltender Michael McNiven ranks first in the league with a .947 save percentage and second with a 1.64 goals-against-average.
About the Everblades: John McCarron leads the Everblades in scoring with 15 points...Defenseman and Fort Myers, Florida native Logan Roe leads the league in plus-minus at +17....Florida is a team that finishes games strong. The Everblades have outscored their opponents 22-11 in third period.....Florida's roster features a familiar face in goaltender Ken Appleby. Appleby was a standout netminder for the Icemen last season. Appleby ranks ninth in the league with a 2.43 goals-against-average.
