TONIGHT:
The Ontario Reign (7-4-0-2) face the Utah Grizzlies (4-5-1-2) for the third time in four nights. Each team has earned a victory in regulation in this series, although the Grizzlies lead the season series by virtue of their 4-3 shootout win over Ontario at Citizens Business Bank Arena on Nov. 8.
KING STILL STREAKING:
Even with Saturday's loss, center Tristan King torrid scoring pace continues, as he carries an active point streak of eight games into tonight's matchup with two goals and seven assists, while also maintaining a plus-minus of +9 over that span. In addition, King also has an active road point streak of seven games heading into tonight's game, with one goal and six assists.
HOLDING A LEAD:
Even after surrendering four third-period goals on Saturday, Ontario is still tied for the second-most wins in the ECHL with six when leading after two periods. Utah is incidentally the only Western Conference team that has managed to mount a third period comeback and eke out a win more than twice this season.
SHOTS CRUCIAL TO SUCCESS:
Although it has happened on a limited basis early on this season, when outshooting its opponents Ontario has a 3-1-0-0 record. Conversely, when Utah is outshot by its opponents, the team sports a 0-4-1-2 record.
CONTAIN AUBIN:
Ontario will benefit largely from containing Mathieu Aubin in Monday's match. The forward had gone pointless prior to the game between the Reign and Grizzlies, but since then Aubin has come alive, putting up two goals and one assist in three games against Ontario.
